Quartz composition is approximately 90-95% crushed natural quartz crystals, polymer resins, and pigments. Natural quartz ranks about 7 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. This level of hardness makes engineered quartz slabs/countertops highly resistant to scratches and chipping.
The production process of engineered quartz involve high heat, vibration, and vacuum compaction which produces a virtually non-porous quartz stone slabs. Quartz countertops are unaffected by most common household products, foods, and liquids.
Heat Resistant Quartz slabs/countertops is more heat resistant than some natural stone surfaces like marble or laminate countertops. It can typically withstand exposure to moderately hot temperatures without damage.
Bacteria Resistant Unlike natural stones, quartz stone slabs is extremely dense and nonporous. Its characteristics inhibits the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms which makes it a great choice for food service.
Quartz stone slabs material is available in many distinctive colors. The range of subtle hues, dynamic colors and varied particle sizes provide a palette to accentuate or compliment the full spectrum of classic designs to the most innovative design trends.
Quartz stone slabs/countertops has 4 to 5 times the flexural strength of granite. That flexibility allows the quartz material to bend slightly instead of breaking, making it resistant to cracking which is prevalent in natural stones. This inherent flexural strength is advantageous throughout the entire chain of events from fabrication, transportation to installation.
